Guide Update

February 2, 2026 5:15 pm

Alex Wigley, our Heli Skiing Operations Manager, recently shared an update on conditions across our nearly one-million-acre ski area:

"Tyax has recently received up to 20cm of new snow across our Northern Tenure, and up to 50cm in our South Western Tenure. The new powder is currently sitting on smooth surfaces, providing guests with runs that are full of easy skiing, fun, dry bouncy powder. Our temperatures have been mild, and with occasional flurries of new snow each evening. This year's strong start has our base over 350cm in our Western Tenure, and 250-300cm in our Eastern Tenure.  Tyax guides have been skiing Alpine and Treeline terrain in the northern half of our tenure.

Currently, we have a few more days of precipitation bringing another 10cm, followed by some clear weather and mild temperatures. A perfect weather forecast for great skiing, and exploring our vast tenure."

Don't forget: at Tyax Heliskiing, we operate with a one-group-per-helicopter format, which means no waiting on other groups, no rushing, and more skiing. It’s a relaxed, exclusive, and is a truly unforgettable experience.
