Guide Update
The team at Tyax can’t wait to kick off the heliskiing season in late January, as current conditions are excellent.
Alex Wigley, our Heli Skiing Operations Manager, recently shared an update on conditions across our nearly one-million-acre ski area:
"Tyax is off to a great start and well on our way to an epic heliskiing season. We have avoided most of the warm weather that has reached Whistler this season, which is located further south than Tyax, and have been getting the perfect combination of cool temperatures and heavy snowfall. This has helped set a strong base for winter.
Currently in the Slim Valley, we have a base of approximately 200 cm at 1,800 m, which is significantly more than at this time last year. Over the past week, we have received 100 to 150 cm of storm snow. In the Ochre, there is approximately 300 cm of snow on the glaciers, and we are currently expecting another 85 cm of snowfall over the next five days."

Don't forget: at Tyax Heliskiing, we operate with a one-group-per-helicopter format, which means no waiting on other groups, no rushing, and more skiing. It’s a relaxed, exclusive, and is a truly unforgettable experience.
